Tutorials Beginner
Each tutorial is a short, prompt-driven path: you paste plain-language prompts into your AI assistant and tdmcp builds, wires and previews the real network in TouchDesigner. Every prompt is a copyable code block — hover to copy it in one click.
Before you start any tutorial, make sure you've installed tdmcp and made your first visual.
The four tracks
| # | Tutorial | Level | You'll build |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Your first audio-reactive visual | Beginner | A spectrum-driven visual reacting to your mic, with one live control. |
| 2 | A camera-interactive installation | Intermediate | A webcam that turns viewer movement into particles and trails. |
| 3 | A VJ set with a timeline | Intermediate | Two scenes cued to a tempo-synced timeline you trigger live. |
| 4 | A generative art loop | Intermediate | A self-evolving loop that looks alive left running. |
How the levels work
- Beginner — no prior TouchDesigner or tdmcpexperience needed beyond installing it.
- Intermediate — assumes you've done a beginnertutorial and are comfortable running prompts and exposing controls.
- Advanced — deeper reference material; see theAdvanced group in the sidebar.
Stuck on any step? Every tutorial ends with an If it goes wrong section, and you can always check Troubleshooting and the FAQ.
